the re-introduction of Foam Food
Service at the U.S. Congress for
this Earth Day special issue.
Recently the House of
Representatives' cafeterias
switched back to plastic
food service ware from
biodegradable cups and
utensils, which actually
used more energy, cost an
additional $475,000
annually, and had poor
performance. We also asked
John about his role in
spreading the sustainability
message of NOVA Chemicals
and the benefits of EPS.

An Earth
Day Review: Two Programs Reducing
NOVA Chemicals' Emissions
Using landfill methane gas as a
significant fuel source is something
many companies and municipalities
dream about. For a year NOVA
Chemicals has been walking the talk
in a major way at its Painesville,
Ohio manufacturing location. In a
smaller but significant initiative,
offering alternate work schedules to
many employees in Beaver Valley, Pa.
has reduced
carbon emissions.
