We've asked our customers: "What
are the biggest challenges you
have in designing a
cost-effective, sustainable
thermoformed part?"
Headache #3: Increased Sheet
Gauge
Increased sheet gauge is
sometimes required to improve
performance characteristics of
thermoformed parts. Typically,
increasing sheet gauge improves
crush strength by removing thin
spots, but also increases
warpage and costs and slows
cycle times. Using a polyolefin/UPES®
resin blend helps alleviate this
costly headache by improving the
material distribution to enhance
physical properties of the final
parts - eliminating the need to
increase sheet gauge and often
enabling down-gauging.
